Kumiai Chemical Group Basic Policy on Sustainability

Based on the Kumiai Chemical Group Corporate Philosophy, the Kumiai Chemical Group works to enhance corporate value by promoting sustainability management and contributes to the realization of a sustainable society, taking into account the expectations and needs of stakeholders.

1. Realizing harmony with the environment
   The Kumiai Chemical Group understands the significance of coexistence with the global environment, including global warming and biodiversity. Through our business activities, we work to conserve resources and energy, reduce waste, and innovate based on the Sustainable Food Systems Strategy formulated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, as well as promote the provision of environmentally friendly products and services. We also contribute to the realization of a low-carbon society and a circular economy.
2. Creating rewarding workplaces
   The Kumiai Chemical Group respects human rights and the diversity of human resources, creates rewarding workplaces, and promotes diversity in training and deployment of human resources.
3. Realizing disciplined organizational structures

Sustainability Promotion System

To promote sustainability management, we have established the Sustainability Promotion Committee, headed by the President, and have organized three subcommittees under the Sustainability Promotion Committee for each ESG category. The Committee and the three subcommittees discuss and examine targets and progress about sustainability issues, and promote initiatives to realize a sustainable society.
In addition, we inform Group companies of our policy at the "Sustainability Promotion Subcommittee" in the Kumiai Chemical Group Top Management Strategy Meeting.
