Stress Check

The Occupational Health and Safety Law mandates that stress checks be conducted at workplaces with 50 or more employees, while those with less than 50 are required to make an effort. However, Kumiai Chemical conducts stress checks at all workplaces regardless of the number of employees.
In 2022, we focused on creating a system to ensure the effectiveness of creating a better environment for the entire company, to reflect the knowledge of outside experts and the latest trends in analyzing the results. We will continue to make various efforts to create a continuous mental health care system, focusing on "how to improve.”

Initiatives after COVID-19

On May 8, 2023, the Japanese government lowered the status of COVID-19 to "Class 5" under the Infectious Disease Control Law.
In response to this, Kumiai Chemical has implemented the following measures.

Telework system

We have changed the purpose of telework implementation from the original "infectious disease control" to "enhancement of work-life balance," respecting the wishes of our employees, as the rate of telework implementation, which should have become more widespread due to the COVID-19 pandemic, continues to decline. In line with this change, we have established and been operating telework as a "system" to ensure diverse and flexible work styles, to improve productivity, and to respond to emergencies such as disasters and pandemics to ensure business continuity.

Expansion of Special Leave System

We re-established the special leave system for employees suffering from COVID-19 infection, which was established as a pandemic countermeasure, as a system that includes seasonal influenza and other infectious diseases. This system allows for a flexible response not only to coronavirus infections, which likely continue to occur in the future but also seasonal influenza and other infectious diseases.
